Recently people have started blogging about the “Master Cleanser Upgrade”. These videos by David Wolfe describe his version of the Stanley Burroughs Master Cleanser. My take on the subject is that this could
be more appropriately considered an “ultra premium fast.”



A lot of people who do the original cleanse are doing so because it is rather cheap. Often times folks can’t afford many health supplements, or maybe they are just getting into fasting for the first time and don’t see the practicality in spending a bunch of money on it. In my mind they shouldn’t feel like they need to add the ingredients suggested by David Wolfe. Although I am a huge fan of the supplements he mentions, they by no means are necessary for a great detox.



I agree with David that many people are actually skipping the “Salt Water Flush”, so for those people the alternatives he mentions are worth checking out. Personally I have found the senna based laxative tea to effectively to keep my things moving out, although the salt water flush also works for me really well.



I also agree in adding a pinch of Himalayan crystal salt to the lemonade. This unprocessed salt adds most of the healthy trace minerals in existence into your lemonade. A $20 bag will last you a long time as it goes a really long way in foods and drink. I also add it to all my daily filtered drinking water in a 1/4tsp per gallon ratio.



Zeolites are also a fabulous powder and I see no reason why it would be anything but a bonus to any detoxing regiment. We are all very loaded up with man-made chemicals and toxic metals, so if you have the money – this product will help you avoid reabsorbing some of them as they are stirred up in the body.



MSM powder is a phenomenal product and I highly recommend it as one of the top 5 supplements to take regularly. Number one of that list is Omega-3 oils, (krill oil from the Vitacost store being my favorite source).



When you add green powders, noni powder, shilajit and vegetable juice this becomes a powerful detoxification juice fast. I wouldn’t say its the Master Cleanser, I would just consider it doing a juice fast. You might as well get various fresh squeezed juice recipes and enjoy the variety and the process. This however starts entering a whole new level in spending money on your health. If you are not prepared to go this route, do not be disappointed! Any of these items will be of benefit when you can afford them or if you get to the
place where you feel your body needs to be doing regular detoxifying regiments.



David also has mentioned using honey for the “Master Cleanser Upgrade” instead of maple syrup. I am going to have to disagree on this one. I do feel that honey ramps up the blood sugar levels faster than maple syrup. It has a fructose (a more foreign to the body sugar molecule) content of 55-60%. Maple syrup is mostly sucrose and glucose.



It is also mentioned in the video that diabetics, people with candida, or cancer can go without any of the sweetener. I personally know many type 2 diabetics have done fine, so I wouldn’t change up the MC for that
reason. And if you have candida, I think there are plenty of benefits to doing this cleanse with the sweetener included, you could go on a candida diet protocol afterwards. Many would fail at a fasting attempt without the helpful calories from the maple syrup.



So overall I think he did a good job spreading information about another option for fasting. I am glad he is drawing attention to the Master Cleanser and to the great supplements mentioned. So see what you are up for, and best wishes on your path towards health!

Why You Are Not Losing Belly Fat…

If you are like most people with a weight problem,
you already know the answer. (Consuming more calories
than you burn).
